Panamá City LEGO Store – Multiplaza

There’s much to write about – I was gone for a week visiting family back in the US. While there, I managed to visit two LEGO stores, and of course bring back some LEGO for myself? What did I get ? You’ll have to wait for the next post….

But the most exciting thing is that the LEGO Store at the Multiplaza Mall reopened while I was gone. At the beginning of August, it had closed with a sign saying it would reopen in late August. Today was the first chance I had to visit, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that construction was complete.

The store looks beautiful, and seems to be consistent with the new branding in a LEGO store (I’m basing this on the fact that one of the stores I visited last week had just been open for a year, and this one is very similar to that).

The site of the store has a fun mural, and some large display windows showing off the sets.

The front entrance has a large brick built 2×4 brick greeting you from underneath a ring light featuring LEGO designs.

There was a build station with a brick built Chinese lucky cat.

The build a minifig station was there, showing a newer round design.

A chart in the back invites you to find out how tall you are in LEGO bricks.

One thing that attracts all AFOLs who MOC is, of course, the Pick a Brick wall. I don’t remember if this store had one in the past or not, so this may be a new feature.

I love the new store – it feels fresh and clean and very inviting to shop. Except, of course, for the Panamanian prices! Prices range around 25-30% higher here, and that doesn’t include tax. I will be sourcing as much of my LEGO outside the country as I can!

In the meantime, this will be a great place to visit.
