Building 10228 Haunted House – Book 3

The third and final instruction book for 10228 is the attic and the roof. By the end of this build you (obviously) have the completed model, which looks marvellous.

A close up of the top level shows the intricacy of the build. It’s a little fiddly, but considering the model looks so great, I didn’t mind at all.

Opening up the model shows the details on the inside, too. I love the trap door function that’s been included that allows a way for the minifigures to make it from one floor to another.

The model fully opened looks amazing.

This is one of my favourite sets – it reminds me of a modular experience, but I love the dollhouse design.

I wish there wasn’t as much discolouration of the bricks, which you continue to see on this last floor, especially with the grey bricks in the chimney.

This set also includes several reddish brown bricks that are known for being brittle. Fortunately, I didn’t have any bricks break on this build, though I do build and tear down verrrrry carefully.

I don’t time my builds, but I was able to rebuild over the course of two afternoons – it came together quicker than I thought. Now there’s a few days yet before Hallowe’en – I’ll have to break out another set!
